Alan Herringshaw

Alan is a retired Technical Director. He graduated BSc (Hons) in Polymer Science and Technology from The University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology. He is married with three children and three grandchildren.

Alan studied piano locally and passed the ABRSM grade eight examination in his mid twenties. He is a keen choral singer, having sung in choirs including the Leicester Bach Choir, Leicester Philharmonic Choir and Countesthorpe Festival Chorus.

He was a member of Houghton Singers, a community choir, and subsequently became their Director up until 2019. He currently sings with Cantamici Choir, where he has held various committee positions, including Chair 2016–2021.
