Hon. Secretary Ron Mitchell

Ron is a Scot born and brought up in Edinburgh, although his mother's parents were Italian. After a degree in mathematics he taught secondary school for a while before moving into IT and working as a software engineer for a large international business services company. He retired in the autumn of 2022.

Ron's musical skills include piano (grade 6), folk guitar and tin whistle. He is also a member of Sing For Change, a small amateur choir in Coventry, where he lives.

Music Choices - Unashamedly late Romantic and early 20th century: Brahms, Rachmaninoff, Sibelius, Elgar, Nielsen... great pianists of past and present. Scots, Irish and English folk song. But JS Bach is God, of course.

Ron is on the Committee of the national Federation of Recorded Music Societies, and looks after their web site.
